The beauty of Pilates is that anyone, at any age, can get started.

Through the controlled and progressive movements you can strengthen your body from within.

But with Pilates strength is not bulk, like you would achieve in a gym, but a strong core.

The slow movements, supported with your core, will improve your balance.

Pilates makes you stop and think about what you are doing.  By focusing the mind, regulating your breathing and making use of internal resistance, it is an extremely powerful way to tone your body.

Pilates teaches you co-ordination through re-introducing the mind to the body.

Pilates exercises require more thought than other workouts which rely on repetition. This keeps the mind active and alert and has therefore the added benefit that during the session you solely concentrate on yourself.  Leaving for an hour your busy life outside the studio, is not only physical but mentally rewarding.
